Senegal beat Brazil at the FIFA 2021 Beach Soccer World Cup.

Brazil are seen as the powerhouses of the Beach Soccer World Cup,they have an unrivalled 14 titles to their name and were widely expected to add another title to their collection in Russia this year.

Meanwhile Senegal entered the tournament as underdogs, they had few appearances at The FIFA Beach World Cup.However they are Africa's most successful side and have won 6 African Beach Soccer titles.

This set the game up nicely in the quarter finals at the Luzhniki beach soccer stadium on August the 26th. Favourites Brazil started well and were 3-1 up going into the third quarter with typical Brazilian ‘flair play’. Senegal were not going to let the chance slip out of their grasp though as they rallied in the 3rd quarter to tie the game at 3-3 making for a tense extra time period. Senegal soaked up the pressure from Brazil and played on the counter which proved to be a magnificent game-plan as they scored 2 to Brazil's 1 meaning they advanced to the quarter finals after a nervous but entertaining game.

Celebrations ensued, the small amount of travelling Senegalese supporters went mad and goalkeeper Ndiyae was so overjoyed he climbed on top of the goal pointing to them. The lions of Teranga have done Africa proud in becoming the first African side to reach a semi final in a Beach Soccer World Cup but will not rest on that achievement when they play Asia’s representatives Japan on the 28th of August.
